La Giglio Society di East Harlem a New York come ogni anno, da circa un secolo ad oggi, mette in campo la sua Festa per Sant’Antonio di Padova con la Ballata del Giglio, guidata quest’anno dal “Capo Number 1” John Zangaglia, che si terrà Domenica 14 Agosto 2016 sulla East 115th Street on Pleasant Avenue nei pressi della Shrine Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. Dura da giovedi 11 a domenica 14 agosto con la Processione di Sant’Antonio la mattina di sabato 13 e la Ballata del Children’s Giglio, per il ricambio generazionale, nel pomeriggio di sabato 13 agosto. Domenica 14 agosto dopo la Messa nella Chiesa della Madonna del Carmine alle ore 13,00 inizia la Ballata del Giglio in onore di Sant’Antonio di Padova come a Brusciano. Dal 2013 il Giglio di East Harlem è vestito con i pezzi commissionati alla Bottega dei Costruttori della Gioventù di Brusciano, progettista Rocco Belfiore con l’assistenza nella realizzazione dell’architetto Luigi Romano. La spedizione via mare di questi pezzi ha ripercorso lo stesso tragitto della Statua di Sant’Antonio di Padova partita dalla Chiesa di S. Maria delle Grazie di Brusciano nel mese di giugno 1925. Quest’anno, così come avvenne nel 2012 e nel 2014, una delegazione della Giglio Society E. H. da New York sarò presente alla Festa dei Gigli di Brusciano, Giungeranno dagli USA Phil Bruno, Bob Maida, Peter Tiscione, John Spampinato e Mitchell Farbman in aereo. Jimmy Granata con la consorte sbarcherà da una nave crociera a Napoli per arrivare a Brusciano per la prima volta e realizzare il sogno dei suoi avi che lasciarono il loro paese oltre cento anni fa senza farvi più ritorno».
