On August 3, 2024 near the Lily built in wood and just dressed in the station between Pleasant Avenue & East 115 street East Harlem, NY there was the meeting of the members of the Giglio Society GSEHNY while the official opening is on August 8 from 18.00 onwards with the following Musical Opening Night and sing with the group “The Bel-Airs” ; on August 9th there will be the “Freestyle for the Concert”10.00 at 12.00 will be held the Procession of St. Anthony of Padua starting from Pleasant Ave & 114 st.; at 17.00 the Ballad of Giglio of boys and girls, Children’s Giglio“Children”; Sunday, August 11, 2024 at 14.00 at the beginning of the “Giglio Dance of East Harlem” with the “First Lift” on Pleasant Ave 114th -116th Street.

For the Ballad of the Antonian Lily in East Harlem, Antonio Castaldo expressed his thoughts of good wishes: «If Brusciano is preparing to celebrate his 149th “Festa dei Gigli Antoniani” (17-31 August 2024), the Italian American Community in East Harlem in New York celebrates its 115th “Giglio Dance” (8-11 August 2024) always in Onore di Sant’Antonio di Padova.-York-Verso-le-Ballate-of-Gigli-del-2024–(Antonio-Castaldo).
They were the emigrants from Bruscianesi with the pioneer Gioacchino Vivolo (Brusciano 29 August 1879-New York 19 October1969), the grandfather of Phil Bruno who was “the num. 1” in the “Giglio Dance 2021” and is a frequent visitor along with other Italian Americans, as he will do this year, of the Festa dei Gigli in Brusciano.
In continuing, as the spokesman of GSEHNY, the good relations of friendship between our communities in Brusciano, Naples, and New York, USA, for the promotion of peace in the world and of the friendship between peoples and cultures we all extend greetings from Brusciano and the wish of Good Feast. – My family and I, the Gigli Associations and the entire Community of Brusciano, we all express our warmest to “Capo num. 1” first woman in history, Megan Zangaglia, to the Board of Directors of the GSEHNY and a special greeting to the members, the builder, lifters boys and girls of the “Giglio Dance” and their families and visitors, all remembering the ancestors and to honor and pray to Saint Anthony of Padua, as in the USA well as as in Italy in Brusciano and in Padua and all over the world.-cordial greetings to the “Capo n. 1” first woman in history to be such, Megan Zangaglia, at the Board of Directors of GSEHNY and a special greeting to the Chief to the founding members, young people and girls of the “Giglio Dance” and their families and visitors, all to remember their ancestors and to honor and pray to St. Anthony of Padua, as well as in the USA also in Italy in Brusciano, Padua and the whole world.
In the last decade the East Harlem Lily has been dressed in wood and papier mache decorations produced in Brusciano. In 2013 the dress, used until 2018, was the one on a project entitled “Miceracy and Brotherhood-Friendship and Brotherhood”, by the architect Luigi Romano and the graphic designer Carmine Belfiore, at the Gioventù Association 1985. The expedition was curated by the head of the parent company Angelo Mocerino “O’ Piscatore” and by the founding partner Antonio Di Palma.
In the year 2019, the one still in use, on a project entitled “Union in Faith – Union in Faith” conceived by Fiore D’Amore of the Giglio Passo Veloce 1978 was carried out at the “Bottega Sessa” by the young Carmine Sessa, son of Pinuccio Sessa, former head of the Ortolano Lily. Carmine is now the esteemed continuation of high craftsmanship on the example of the unforgettable, grandfather Zì Carminiello “ Zazà”, and uncle Pierino.
