The Giglio Society of East Harlem along with The Sons of San Paolino Di Nola would like to thank everyone who took the time to participate in this year’s Columbus Day Parade on 5th Avenue in New York City.. Your presence was very much appreciated and showed the dedication your have for Sant’ Antonio, San Paolino and Our Lady of Mt Carmel Shrine Church in honoring our traditions.
We also thank The Columbus Citizens Foundation for hosting this event year after year promoting our Italian culture in NYC and other venues from all parts of Italy.
A special thank you to one of our own Larry Auriana for his loyalty and generosity and his love for a tradition and dedication to his old neighborhood. We hope to see everyone at next year’s parade.

NOTE: The Columbus Day Parade has a special meaning to East Harlem for on October 12, 1929, New York City businessman and Italian immigrant Generoso Pope led the First Columbus Day Parade from East Harlem down to Columbus Circle. Generoso Pope was also a founder of the Columbus Citizens Committee which produces the parade every year..
