  • Giglio Season Is here! Please save the dates for all of the Feasts put on by our wonderful Giglio Family Community!
  • For the first time in Giglio history, there will have a female #1 Capo Paranza! Congratulations to Megan Z on this wonderful achievement. It is a testament to all her hard work and well deserved.
  • SAVE THE DATES!
  • Freestyle Legends Safire, Rockell, Nyasia & Evelyn of the Cover Girls will be performing at our Freestyle For A Cause MEGA Concert on Friday August 9th  at the Feast! This is a free concert! We have donation baskets available and all money collected is donated to Alzheimer’s Disease & Breast Cancer organizations.
  • The East Harlem Giglio Online Store is now open. Order soon to get your East Harlem Giglio gear in time for the feast, so you can show it off!

Our 115th Anniversary

 

  • The first East Harlem Giglio Feast
    The first Giglio Feast was started on East 106th street in East Harlem in 1908. Gioacchino Vivolo is credited for being the first Capo Paranza. He along with his brother Rocco Vivolo were members of the Bruscianese Society and were influential in bringing this tradition to East Harlem from Brusciano, Italy.

From 106 street, to 108 street to Pleasant Ave, we are proud to be keeping up a true NYC Italian tradition!

  • Our Giglio Each year our East Harlem Giglio is a wooden structure built by hand by our AMAZING Giglio Builders, just as it was done 115 years ago. Our team of Giglio Builders are using the same techniques and plans handed down by our forebears from the past 115 years! Though we are lucky that  have power tools now !

  • #1 Capo Paranzas

    The person chosen to be the #1 Capo Paranza for the year, is picked out of their devotion and year’s of service to the East Harlem Giglio Feast. This is a great honor and much responsibility falls on the #1 Capo’s shoulders during the feast and preparation.
    Megan Zangaglia joins a long line of other distinguished Giglio Legends!
