Anthony Coppola
East Harlem Giglio Society newsletter image

A life long proud East Harlem Giglio Boy!
Anthony's parents immigrated from Vico Equense, Italy to East Harlem. His grandmother Maddalena Vanacore who settled on 104th street was married in Saint Lucy’s Church. The Vanacore family owned and operated Harlem Florist Supply for over 40 years and supplied all the carnations for the Giglio Feasts! While his six Great Uncles were all members in the Giglio Feast!

When Anthony was 10 years old, he started  participating in the Giglio Feast when on 108th street. Since then has been heavily involved and hasn’t stopped yet!
For the past 25 years, he has dedicated himself to our annual barbecue and takes pride in protecting and watching over our Saint Anthony statue at the Giglio Feast every year. Anthony's Son Anthony Jr. is a proud Giglio Boy and his grandchildren Anthony Jr. & Paige are Giglio Kids Lifters!
Anthony is ecstatic and honored to be the number one Capo and represent the Giglio Society and his family this year.
